No, not at launch. GTA 6 arrives on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced a PC version or a date for one. Based on how Rockstar handled its last two games, and on what Take-Two’s boss has said this year, a PC release looks likely eventually. It just isn’t confirmed.
What Take-Two has said
Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick has explained the console-first approach more than once. In a Bloomberg interview published in May 2026, he said Rockstar always starts on console because a release on this scale is judged on how well it serves its core audience. He has also said elsewhere that players are steadily moving toward PC, and that Rockstar will announce plans when it is ready.
None of that is a confirmation, but it isn’t a denial either. The public line is consoles first, with other platforms left open.
How long Rockstar made PC players wait last time
| Game | Console release | PC release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto V | September 2013 | April 2015 | About 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 2018 | November 2019 | About 13 months |
If GTA 6 follows either pattern, a PC version would land somewhere between late 2027 and mid-2028. Reports in 2026 have suggested a much shorter gap, including one claiming a window in early 2027. Rockstar and Take-Two haven’t commented on those reports, and we’d treat any specific PC date as speculation until Rockstar announces it.
Can you play GTA 6 on PC at launch at all?
Not natively. There’s no Steam, Epic or Rockstar Launcher version to buy. Owning an Xbox or PS5 copy doesn’t give you a PC copy, and Rockstar hasn’t said whether a future PC version would offer any upgrade or discount to console owners.
Cloud streaming is the other question people ask. We looked at whether GTA 6 will be on Xbox Cloud Gaming; for now, nothing confirms it, so the only way to play on 19 November is on a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
What to do if you only have a PC
Waiting is the safe choice. Rockstar’s PC versions have historically arrived with higher frame rates, better visuals and support for community mods. If you want to play this year, a console copy is the only option. Check GTA 6’s price and editions before you buy, and what time it unlocks where you live.
We’ll update this page if Rockstar announces a PC version.
