Short answer: no, you can’t play GTA 6 on Netflix. The game launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. What Netflix did stream was Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a 26-minute gameplay special that premiered in late August and later appeared on YouTube too, according to Screen Rant.
What was in the special
According to Man of Many’s write-up, the special showed three missions, each very different from the others:
- The drug den. Jason and Lucia look for someone called “Boobie”, only for the cops to arrive and shut everything down.
- The car chase. A classic chase through Vice City, with a six-star wanted rating in the corner of the screen. GTA V used five stars, so this is a return to the older system.
- The high-rise. A mission across 26 floors of a tower, the first time we see the two protagonists split up, with gunfights and a bloody elevator shaft.
Between the missions, fans picked up smaller details: bigger and more reactive crowds, petting (or scolding) dogs, and a scene that plays out as if it were being streamed, in keeping with a Leonida where social media is part of everyday life.
Why Netflix?
Netflix hosted the reveal, and Take-Two leaned on it. VICE reports that the publisher cited the special while reaffirming the 19 November date in its earnings report, a signal that it’s confident about the launch.
So when can you actually play?
- 12 November: digital pre-load opens, and physical boxes with a download code go on sale (there’s no disc in the box).
- 19 November: launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced.
