Xbox has kicked off its gamescom 2021 with a stack of new gameplay trailers and reveal, first lifting the lid off Forza Horizon 5 with a stunning 4K trailer, and also diving deep into the terrifying new world of Dying Light 2.
The latest Dying Light 2 gameplay trailer — titled “Decide the Fate of the City” — offers perhaps the deepest look yet into the game’s world, and of course in glorious 4K for us to feast upon.
Xbox Showcase at Gamescom 2021

- Forza Horizon 5 wireless controller coming this November
- The Gunk release window confirmed alongside new gameplay trailer
- Microsoft Flight Simulator multiplayer is coming in late 2021
- Forza Horizon 5 4K trailer: The glorious first 8 minutes

It’s fairly obvious from the trailer that Dying Light 2 is going to be far bigger in scope and depth than its predecessor, with the trailer showcasing the origins of an outbreak across the city, and just how quickly things can truly get out of hand.
On the agenda is the game’s range of new parkour moves, meaning the combat is also evolved to tie into the frantic pace of the action. Safe to say the action in Dying Light 2 is going to be fairly brutal.

What really seems to stand out here is the sheer verticality of the buildings: given the enhanced movement and mobility of the gameplay, it would make sense to create a world with higher builders and a firmer sense of verticality.
Dying Light 2 lands on Xbox Series X and Series S on December 7.
