ReCore set for HDR treatment on Xbox One S

ReCore turned out to be a fairly divisive game upon release, despite being marketed and thought of by the gaming community as one of the Xbox One’s best exclusives for 2016. Reviews were fairly mixed, and I felt it lacked much in the way of consistent game design and identity.

Still, it may be worth trying out if you’re after a platformer-shooter, as ReCore has plenty to offer in that regard. It’s not a perfect game by any means, but it’s probably solid enough to justify a quick bash.

Now may be as good a time as ever to give it a go, with the recent release of the Xbox One S allowing developers to add HDR support to their games. ReCore is the latest in a long list of supported games to get such an update.

It will join the likes of first-party games Gears Of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3, and third-party games HitmanNBA 2K17 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Microsoft Studios’ Shannon Loftis has confirmed that ReCore will get the HDR update soon, while the head of marketing at Xbox, Aaron Greenberg, confirmed the update would come after Christmas.
