After a mildly successful first season — which wasn’t without its issues — Blizzard has launched the second season of Overwatch’s Competitive Play.

Blizzard is taking it right up to some of the streaming scene’s biggest players.

Overwatch will surely work its way up the professional circuit to become one of the most watched (and perhaps even bet on) eSports games on the planet. Its Competitive Play mode is not without its problems, but Blizzard is ironing out the kinks and looking to continue to evolve that element of the experience over time.

Overwatch fans have had to put up with months of speculation, but Blizzard has finally buried the rumours and revealed the game’s latest Hero: Ana.

Overwatch’s competitive mode has been the subject of heated debate among Overwatch fanatics since it was introduced last week. Some in the gaming press have argued that it ruins the spirit of the game, making it “less fun” and “too competitive”, but those are frivolous arguments.

Overwatch has taken the world by storm, and rightly so: it’s one of the year’s best games, and certainly one of the better multiplayer shooters released over the past few years. Gamers are loving what Overwatch has to offer, and many have had a blast searching the game for Easter Eggs and other secrets.
