On paper, Michael Jordan is the most complete guard among NBA 2K27’s GOAT Builds. He finishes like Kobe, defends better than any other shooting guard in the set and handles the ball well. The cost is the unlock: REP Elite VIII, one of the longest grinds in Season 2. Whether he’s worth it mostly comes down to whether you’d play enough REP games anyway.
How to unlock the Jordan GOAT Build
2K’s Season 2 Courtside Report lists Jordan as a REP reward at Elite VIII. Derrick Rose unlocks at the same tier, so reaching it gets you two GOAT Builds at once. REP is separate from your Season level, and Elite VIII sits just below the Legend tier, where LeBron James unlocks.
Crew Divisions games earn a 25% REP bonus throughout Season 2, which makes them the quickest route if Jordan is the goal.

Two of those ratings go past what a normal 6’6” build can reach: Speed With Ball is 91 against a usual cap of 86, and Agility is 95 against 92. Neither can take Cap Breakers, because they’re already over the limit.
Why he’s the best all-rounder
Averaged across all 21 ratings, Jordan comes out at just over 80. Young Kobe averages about 77 and Derrick Rose 74. Those averages hide a lot, but they show the difference in shape. Rose and Kobe are brilliant at a few things and weak at others. Jordan has very few weak spots for a guard.
The defense is what separates him. A 90 Perimeter Defense, 90 Steal and 75 Block are the best combination among the shooting guard GOAT Builds, and a 95 Driving Layup with a 99 Driving Dunk means he gives up nothing at the rim to get it.
The weaknesses
His three-point shot is the lowest of the shooting guards at 70, below Young Kobe’s 75. Like every GOAT Build, his jump shot is locked: you shoot with his own base and releases, and his dribble pull-up, hop jumper, spin jumper and post fade are all his signature animations too. Strength is 60, so bigger guards can push him off his spots, and his rebounding is modest.
In practice, play him the way the ratings suggest: attack the rim, take the mid-range pull-up and win games on defense. Don’t expect him to space the floor.
Where to spend Cap Breakers
Cap Breakers are permanent, limited to five per attribute, and some attributes gain far more per Cap Breaker than others, so preview each one in the MyPLAYER Builder before you apply it. On Jordan, the weaknesses that cost you games are Strength and Interior Defense, which matter when you get switched onto bigger players. Spend there before chasing extra points on attributes that are already elite.
