It’s been a year of celebration for Xbox and as we close in on the brand’s 20th anniversary on Nov 15, a new controller has been revealed.
Alongside a new headset, and potentially some new games added to Xbox backwards compatibility, the team at Xbox has now also revealed a 20th anniversary-themed special edition Xbox controller, and it’s creating positive waves through the Xbox community.

The 20th Anniversary Special Edition Controller is sleek and sentimental – an obvious ode to the original Xbox released in 2002.
“The 20th Anniversary Special Edition controller is a fresh spin on the translucent green of the original Xbox Debug kit,” Xbox said.

“The body of the controller features a translucent black finish with silver internals so you can see every detail. The nostalgic, green Xbox button brings us back to the first green Xbox logo. The iconic color can also be found on the back grips and around the hybrid D-pad.”
If you own an Xbox Series X or Series and purchase the controller, you’ll also receive a special 20th anniversary-themed dynamic backdrop for your console.
The controller will launch on November 15 and retail for $79.99.
“Inspired by the styles and innovations of the past, this 20th Anniversary Special Edition Xbox wireless controller brings you the best of the last 20 years. It features a transparent black design with vibrant green details that stay true to Xbox’s signature style while thoughtfully designed buttons and a hybrid D-pad enable precision, tactical gameplay.”
