Lightning Roulette is what happens when a real roulette table borrows the drama of a game show. Evolution pairs a live wheel and a live dealer with a random lightning strike that can electrify your numbers, all in a black-and-gold Art Deco studio.
How Lightning Roulette plays
The wheel is a single-zero wheel, with the numbers 1 to 36 plus one zero, and every usual roulette bet is on the table. An automatic wheel spins the ball. After betting closes, the presenter pulls a lever to start the lightning strikes.
Lucky Numbers
In each round, between one and five Lucky Numbers are struck by lightning and given a random multiplied payout of between 50x and 500x. If the winning number is one of the Lucky Numbers and you had a straight-up bet on it, your win is multiplied by that Lucky Payout. If it isn’t, the round plays out like normal roulette.
The trade-off
The multipliers have a price. In Lightning Roulette, straight-up bets on a number that isn’t a Lucky Number pay 29:1, compared with 35:1 at a standard single-zero table. All other bets, such as splits, corners, red or black and dozens, pay the same as standard roulette. That’s why it plays differently from classic roulette and why multiplier tables are an extra rather than a replacement, as we explain in our guide to the best live casino experiences in 2027.
Look and feel
The presentation is pure game show: dramatic lighting, sound effects and a lever-pull moment before every reveal. It’s one of the games that shows how live casino is moving towards television-style production.
Try it free
Evolution runs an official free-play demo site for its games, where availability depends on your location and you must confirm you meet the legal age. You can find Lightning Roulette on the Evolution demo site. Evolution’s page lists related titles such as XXXtreme Lightning Roulette and Lightning Blackjack if you want more of the same.
How we scored it
Evolution’s game page doesn’t publish an RTP, so our score covers the criteria we can verify: maximum win, gameplay, features and graphics. See How We Rate for the method.
Who it suits
Lightning Roulette is for people who like roulette with a twist and enjoy the show. If you prefer classic payouts and the best odds on straight-up bets, standard live roulette is the better fit. You can try our free slots too if you’d rather start with reels.
