The Finisher is still the best striker archetype in EA FC 27 Clubs, but the way you build it has changed. EA reset every Pro’s Attribute Points on October 22 and repriced the Finisher: pace and dribbling now cost more, and finishing costs less. If your striker was built in September, it was built for prices that no longer exist.
The best FC 27 Clubs striker build
| Setting | Pick |
|---|---|
| Archetype | Finisher |
| Signature PlayStyle+ | Low Driven Shot+ |
| Height | 5’10” to 6’0” |
| Weight | Around 160 to 175 lbs |
| Weak Foot | 5 stars |
| Skill Moves | 4 stars |
| PlayStyles | Quick Step, First Touch, plus Rapid or Finesse Shot |
| Spend AP first on | Finishing, Composure, Reactions |
The height and weight range is where most competitive Clubs strikers have settled. It’s short enough to turn quickly between centre-backs and heavy enough not to be bounced off the ball. The 5-star Weak Foot matters more for a striker than any other position, because chances in the box rarely fall on your stronger side.
What EA changed on October 22
In its October 19 developer update, EA said some attributes had been placed in the wrong cost bracket at launch. The fix went live by 2am Pacific on October 22. Your archetype level and your total AP stayed the same, but every point was returned for you to spend again. Anyone who had already created a Pro receives 5,000 Club Coins and a 1.75x AXP multiplier for six matches.
EA also removed Attacking Positioning as a requirement for Archetype Specializations, so points that previously had to go there can now go anywhere.
These are the changes for the four attacking archetypes:
| Archetype | Now costs more | Now costs less |
|---|---|---|
| Finisher | Acceleration, Sprint Speed, Agility, Vision, Ball Control, Dribbling | Reactions, Composure, Finishing, Volleys |
| Target | Acceleration, Ball Control, Finishing, Short Passing, Curve | Jumping, Strength, Heading Accuracy |
| Spark | Vision, Dribbling, Short Passing, Long Shots, Curve | Sprint Speed, Agility |
| Magician | Balance, Composure, Vision, Shot Power, Volleys | Acceleration, Short Passing, Curve |
How to spend your AP now
Launch-week Finisher builds put a large share of their points into pace, because pace was cheap for what it gave. That has flipped. The same points buy less speed than they did, and every point in Finishing, Composure, Reactions and Volleys goes further.
Start with Finishing and Composure. They are the core of the archetype, they are now cheaper, and Composure is what keeps shots on target when a defender is closing you down. Reactions comes next, also cheaper, and it decides who gets to rebounds and loose balls in the box first.
Buy pace last, and stop when it starts to cost a lot. Enough Acceleration to win the first step is worth paying for; chasing top-end Sprint Speed on a Finisher is now poor value. Volleys is a good place for leftover points, since it’s one of the attributes that got cheaper.
It’s also worth reaching level 10 on the Finisher even if you plan to switch later. The Finisher’s Mastery reward permanently adds +1 Finishing and +1 Composure to every archetype you use.
Finisher, Spark or Target?
Finisher is still the default. Low Driven Shot+ remains the most dependable way to score in Clubs, and the reprice makes the archetype cheaper to build around shooting, which is what it’s for.
Spark is the winner of the reset for pace. Sprint Speed and Agility both got cheaper, so if your team needs a striker who runs in behind rather than one who waits in the box, a Spark up front is now the better-value way to get speed. It pays more for dribbling and passing in return.
Target got cheaper Jumping, Strength and Heading Accuracy, which suits clubs that cross a lot. Build tall and lean into headers, because Finishing now costs the Target more.
Magician got cheaper Acceleration and Short Passing, which makes it a better second striker or false nine than a lone number nine.
