Battlefield 6 is gearing up to become one of 2025’s biggest shooters, and now we’ve got confirmation on one crucial detail that every PC gamer needs to know: file size. Thankfully, unlike some of its genre rivals (*cough* Call of Duty), Battlefield 6 won’t completely devour your storage.
Battlefield 6 Steam File Size: 55GB to 80GB
According to EA and developer Battlefield Studios, Battlefield 6 will require between 55GB and 80GB of space on Steam. The exact size depends on your chosen system settings:

That’s a relatively modest footprint considering Battlefield 6’s scale and high-end visuals. And here’s the kicker: players can choose which components to install. So if you’re tight on drive space, you won’t be forced to download every single feature or texture pack, only what you need.

Alongside the file size news, EA has also outlined the official system requirements for Battlefield 6:

Both tiers require the same RAM, but higher GPU and CPU horsepower will get you smoother visuals, higher frame rates, and likely better physics/rendering performance during massive multiplayer battles.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Details
The open beta is right around the corner, and preloads are already live. Here’s when you can jump in:
- Early Access: Starts August 7 at 8 AM PT
- Open to All: Starts August 9 at 1 AM PT
Even better: beta file size is smaller, ranging between 33GB and 39GB depending on your platform. That means faster downloads, easier access, and a chance to prep before the full game hits later this year.
Battlefield 6 launches October 10
Battlefield 6 officially launches on October 10, 2025. The game will be available as a $70 standard edition, or through an EA Play Pro membership for those who prefer a subscription model.
Note: Battlefield 6 will not be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at launch. Game Pass subscribers only have access to titles from the base EA Play tier, not the upgraded Pro version that includes day-one launches like this one.
