Sure, we all obsess over stats, performance, and win rates, but let’s talk raw, unfiltered joy. Which Overwatch 2 heroes are actually fun to play?
We dug deep into a massive Reddit thread where players shared which characters they find most enjoyable: not the most “efficient,” but the most comfortable, intuitive, and satisfying. The answers reveal some surprising love for off-meta picks and show how diverse playstyles intersect with emotional connection.
Lucio is the Soul of the Party
Probably the most consistently celebrated hero: Lucio. From high-skill rollouts to breezy healing and game-breaking boops, players described Lucio like a second skin.

One player wrote, “When I play him, it’s like the controller becomes an extension of my hand. No thought, just hate and boops and soaring through the air.” Another added, “Lucio is just so fun, man.”
Even those with thousands of hours on him since Overwatch 1 chime in. “I fell in love with his wall-riding in 2016,” said one veteran. “He’s freedom incarnate.”
Kiriko: Stylish and Clutch
Kiriko might not be everyone’s top-tier pocket pick, but players agree she’s fun as hell. Her teleporting, flank-support hybrid playstyle deeply resonates with those who favour fast thinking and big plays over raw healing numbers.
One player explained, “I’m not super efficient with her, but I adore her gameplay. Quick Suzu saves and flanks always get the adrenaline pumping.”

Echo: The Swiss Army Blade
Then there’s Echo — hands down one of the most praised heroes for her unmatched versatility.
From high-damage burst to flight mechanics and movement freedom, players called her “the Swiss Army knife of Overwatch.” And while some admitted she’s tough to master, once everything clicks? “You feel like you’re just … everywhere at once,” one player said simply.
Zenyatta and the “Snap Kick” Awakening
Zen fans came out in droves, particularly praising his recent gameplay buffs. His signature snap kick and harmony/discord orbs allow even lower-mechanical players to shine.
“The 1v1s as Zen are so rewarding,” one replied. “With snap kick, I finally feel like I can survive and fight back.” Environmental kills with his melee? Just a cherry on top.
Doomfist, Wrecking Ball, and Fast Flyers
For mobility junkies, Doomfist and Wrecking Ball were all-time favourites. While several noted Doom’s high skill ceiling makes him stressful, many find the chaos exhilarating. “Doom is fun even if I don’t do well,” one said. “The movement just feels right.”
Wrecking Ball mains argued similarly: he may not be meta, but he’s pure kinetic joy when mastered. Rolling in, diving deep, and disrupting the enemy team never gets old.
Junkrat: Chaos You Can Count On
Junkrat continues to be a fan favorite for players who love causing pure mayhem.

“He’s my comfort pick,” said one. “I just love blowing things up and pretending I can fly.” His spam-based kit and ultimate make him perfect for players who just want to lurk corners and deliver surprise punishment.
Moira & Ramattra: Comfort Through Kit Familiarity
Many described Moira and Ramattra as deeply intuitive heroes. Players said they could outplay higher-ranked opponents through superior cooldown management rather than relying purely on aim.
“With Ramattra and Moira, my brain is just in sync with their kits. They fit right into what I can do well,” said another.
Lifeweaver: “I Saved You!” The Hero
A surprising number of players expressed love for Lifeweaver. While divisive at launch, a dedicated fanbase has formed, particularly due to the satisfaction of clutch Petal or Grip saves.
“I love when teammates thank me for pulling them out of a sticky situation,” one said. It’s so good hearing ‘thank you, Lifeweaver!’ after a game-saving play.
Juno: Newcomer with Flair
Juno was a repeat mention among those who enjoy colourful, high-tempo gameplay. One player described them as “giving me that ‘I’m everywhere at once’ feeling.” Not necessarily high stat performance, but pure fun in motion.
“Blink Boots might be gone, but Juno’s still one of my favoyrites,” said another.
Reinhardt: The Classic Crowd-Pleaser
Reinhardt is still going strong as the go-to for players who lean into brawling fantasy. From landing surprise charges to shattering entire teams, Rein mains are in it for the thrill and the glory.
That hammer? That weight? That feeling of leading your team to victory? You can’t beat it!
Other Honorable Mentions
- Ana: Satisfying sleeps, clutch nades, and emotional synergy with teammates.
- Tracer: Speed demons still swear by her adrenaline loop.
- Soldier: 76 & Sojourn: For players coming from traditional shooters, they offer familiarity with flair.
- Venture: Described as chaotic but surprisingly smooth for players looking to dive & dig.
- Mercy: Several players confessed she’s still their comfort main – elegant, loyal, and essential.
Community Takeaway
Ultimately, the most enjoyable hero varies widely based on playstyle, mood, and sheer personality fit. For some, it’s the smoothness of Kiriko’s teleport. For others, the reckless thrill of Doomfist. What all these responses show is that fun trumps meta every time, because when a hero just ‘clicks,’ stats take a backseat to that pure competitive joy.
So next time you’re in a slump? Forget win rates. Pick the hero that makes you smile mid-game and go absolutely wild.

Tracer is still the most fun hero in Overwatch 2, full stop. Blinking behind a support, sticking a pulse, and recalling out is peak gameplay. It takes time to learn her movement rhythm, but once you do? Every second is dopamine.

Wrecking Ball is criminally underrated in terms of fun. Rolling through the backline, grappling across the map, knocking people off edges, the sheer speed and disruption is so satisfying. Took a while to learn, but now I can’t stop picking him.

Zenyatta’s snap kick turned me from a passive backliner to a confident duelist. I used to just toss orbs and hope for the best. Now I’m winning 1v1s and using environmental kills in ways I never imagined. He’s slow, but so satisfying, especially when you ping off a Doomfist with a well-timed melee.

Lucio is hands-down the most fun I’ve ever had in a game, not just Overwatch 2. Once wall-riding clicks, it’s like you’re dancing across the map. There’s no other support that gives you that level of freedom and flow. It’s not even about winning: it’s about feeling the rhythm and annoying the enemy Rein with perfect boops.
