Has Modern Warfare 4 been confirmed? An NFL star and former Infinity Ward employee appear to have confirmed it for Call of Duty 2019. Modern Warfare 4 essentially confirmed, is ‘just like the old Modern Warfare’

Modern Warfare 4 seems a certain lock to be Call of Duty 2019. We’ve said it a few times already, and a recent event attended by NFL players appears to have hinted at it, but the latest revelation all but actually confirms that Modern Warfare 4 will be the next Call of Duty.

Only a few days ago we heard about the return of Pro Perks in Modern Warfare 4, a leak which would have surely excited old-school Call of Duty fans, particularly those with a love for Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare games.

A few days later we received a sort-of-confirmation by way of a number of NFL and college football players, who were invited by Activision to try out the new Call of Duty.

Influencers were using the hashtag “#CallOfDutyParner” across social media, with NFL prospects and NFL players alike getting involved in the action. How this all ties into Modern Warfare 4 is a bit of a stretch, but given what’s already been leaked, and the randomness of these leaks, it all seems a little too coincidental.

A Redditor posted a slowed-down video of the players battling it out in Call of Duty 2019, and you can kind-of-sort-of hear the words “killstreaks” and “Modern Warfare 4”. Make of that what you will. Killstreaks have long been touted as to be on the agenda to return in Modern Warfare 4, so it would make sense that, upon first playing the game, they would talk about it after first seeing the word on screen.

Since then, we’ve had two solid confirmations of the existence of Modern Warfare 4. In one instance, NFL Tennessee Titans quarterback, Marcus Mariota, says during a Fortnite Twitch stream with Nickmerks that his favourite Call of Duty games were the Modern Warfare games, and that he’d “just played the new one”, and that it was “like the old Modern Warfare“. Check out the clip below.

On top of that, one of the most pivotal and influential voices of the Call of Duty franchise during the Modern Warfare era, Robert Bowling, has essentially confirmed that Call of Duty 2019 is Modern Warfare 4. Bowling, the former Infinity Ward creative strategist, responded to a fan on Twitter.

That’s two pretty solid confirmations that Call of Duty 2019 will be Modern Warfare 4. We should hopefully have an official confirmation and unveiling in the coming days leading into May.
