The Division 2 stands to be one of the year’s biggest games, offering open-world multiplayer action on a scale not yet seen in gaming. Set amongst the backdrop of a Washington D.C. ravaged by conflict, you’ll work your way up 30 levels before eventually reaching the game’s endgame, and unlocking the three Specializations and their skill trees, which we’ll break down in this guide.
With each of the three Specializations you’ll have access to a unique “signature” primary weapon, grenade and skill mods, a primary weapon attachment, a tactical link for group buffs, armor kits, weapon bonuses, and 2 Signature Weapon ammo talents for your party.
Each skill tree can have up to 160 points allocated for unlocking specific traits, and you’ll need to battle it out against the Black Tusk faction — the faction that takes over the map in the endgame — to earn these points.
Let’s take a look at each Specialization, the skills available, and requirements need for ammo drops.
Survivalist | Demolitionist | Sharpshooter
Survivalist
Survivalists take control of surroundings, and can use traps to keep an area under control. A crossbow acts as their primary weapon.
Primary Signature Weapon: Explosive Tipped Crossbow

- Incendiary Grenade
- Any enemies within the radius will receive burn
- Survivalist D50
- This offers a .44 Magnum Revolver with an additional optical attachment slot
- Gunslinger
- Adds +10% increased Sidearm damage
- Signature Weapon Damage
- Once reaching Tier 4, you’ll receive +145% increased damage for your signature weapon
- Running The Gun
- Once reaching Tier 3, you’ll receive +15% increased Shotgun damage
- E.M.I.
- Once reaching Tier 3, you’ll receive +15% increased Assault Rifle damage
- Infantry 5.56 Mag
- Unlock a custom magazine for any 5.56 Assault Rifle
General Modifiers
- Elite Defense
- A 20% protection increase from Elites

- A 15% ongoing healing increase

- A 10% Skill cooldown reduction whenever you’re in cover

- A reduction of 20% the change you’ll be critically hit.

- 10% bonus damage to targets by group members
Skill Modifiers
- Mender
- Will release a seeker mine that will repair armor and follow allies
- Magnetic Disc
- Reduces seeker mine cooldown
- Larrea Tridentata Infusion
- Increases seeker mine healing
Misc
- Distributed Repair
- This will increase armor kit repair to 5 seconds, however it will also repair group members within a 10 metre radius
- Explosive Bolt Acquisition
- Crossbow bolts dropped by any enemy killed while under status effects
- Group Signature Ammo Supply
- Increase chance of Signature Weapon ammo being dropped when a status effect target is killed
- Scraping By
- When in a cover-to-cover action, grants 5 ammo for current active weapon
Demolitionist
The grenade launcher — of course — acts as the Demolitionist’s primary weapon.
Primary Signature Weapon: M32A1 Multi-shot Grenade Launcher
