Battlefield 1 has now been out for a week, and safe to say it’s one of the best Battlefield games to come out from the team at DICE. It’s been a hit with critics and gamers alike, and has gone on to become the highest-selling Battlefield game at launch ever, beating the combined total of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline over the same period.
We’ve covered Battlefield 1 at length here on Fenix Bazaar: we even have a list of the 9 worst types Battlefield 1 players, which led to a little bit of division among our readers but we can’t help it if you’re not very good at the game (just kidding! But seriously: git gud).
If you’re one of the many millions of players that have jumped into one of the best games of the year, then this article should relate: what better way to recreate the emotional ride of the virtual battlefield than with the emotive appeal of the almighty gif?
Here’s how I feel when I play Battlefield 1.
When you’re kicking ass on the armored train’s gatling gun
When you’re a medic and have low health, so you save yourself and let your teammates die because you didn’t have a choice.
When you start you own squad and four randoms join, all as the same class.
When an enemy unleashes 50 bullets into you but you shoot once and get the kill with 1 Health left.
Basically the real-life equivalent of Battlefield newcomers trying to fly a plane.
When you rush an objective and turn the corner to find a mother fucking enemy tank parked right there.
How I imagine British players react when they play as the British and their team gets absolutely annihilated.
When you’re squad leader and your team has lost an objective that you had marked to defend.
When you’re the only one capturing a flag.
When a sniper takes you out but then someone revives you and that same sniper takes you out again.
When everything you do is shit, the opposition has every objective, and there’s no way out of hell!
When you spawn on your squad because they look to be in friendly territory but you spawn and get immediately killed.
When you and your friend squad-up, dominate the leaderboard, and lead the team to victory.
Everyone with the gatling class.
Everyone with the Flame Trooper class.
When your location has been hit hard and your squad is all dead and you’re the last one standing.
And then when you take out a tank all by yourself.
When you make that epic comeback and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
When you choke and your team snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
When you’re counting the hours down to finish work and go home to play Battlefield 1.
While you wait for the next match to load.
After spending the whole day playing Battlefield 1.
