Augmentations in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided form an important and fundamental part of the experience. They essentially act as “upgrades” for your character, allowing you to respond to the environment in different ways using physical upgrades (augmentations). Simply put, they allow you to transition from a “normal” human into a superhuman.

How To Get Augmentations
Augmentations can be purchased with Praxis. Praxis points are earned when you earn a new level, which are acquired via XP. Alternatively, you can purchased Praxis Kits, which can be found either in specific areas on the map, or purchased from around Prague at about 10,000 a piece.
The best way to get Praxis and buy more augmentations is by — you guessed it — levelling up and earning XP as quickly as possible. Many different things in the game world grant you XP, so try to explore areas as thoroughly as you can. Don’t be afraid to go offer the beaten path, as doing so will almost certainly earn you extra XP.
