The survival game where a garden feels like a continent is getting bigger. Maximum Entertainment has released the first proper gameplay trailer for Smalland 2: Lost Realms, and confirmed the sequel is now aiming for a 2027 release.
The trailer mixes developer commentary with gameplay and gives the first real look at systems that had only been teased online:
- Perks. A new perk system for shaping how your character plays.
- Resource gathering and crafting. Both reworked for the sequel.
- Climbing and swimming. This is the big one for a game about being tiny. Scaling plants and crossing puddles that might as well be oceans changes how you explore.
Maximum says the 2027 window is about getting the game right, and judging by how many new systems are in play, the extra time makes sense. The original Smalland built a loyal co-op following on its sense of scale, and climbing and swimming look like the features that could make the sequel feel properly open.
You can already wishlist it on Steam ahead of the 2027 launch.
