Bloober Team’s survival horror is going back in time. Cronos: Lazarus, the first DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn, launches on 3 December 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Switch 2 version is planned for Q1 2027.

The new story trailer sets up a prequel. You play the Pathfinder, an elite agent of the Collective, in the events that turned him into the Warden from the base game. Cut off from the Collective and stuck inside the Terminal, he’s trying to revive a lost Essence before it fades, on a mission the Collective must never find out about.

A faster, nastier Cronos

Bloober says Lazarus plays faster and more aggressively than the original, and the new toolkit backs that up:

  • Teleportation for quick repositioning mid-fight
  • A decoy that pulls enemies away and briefly turns you invisible
  • The Gladius, a quicker, deadlier blade than the base game’s dagger

You won’t be alone out there either. The Tracker is a new Collective envoy whose only job is to hunt the Pathfinder down before the revival can happen. Expect chase sequences.

The setting is still the bleak wasteland of New Dawn, inspired by Nowa Huta, the Soviet-era district of Kraków, Poland. That brutalist backdrop was one of the strongest parts of the original.

Bandai Namco has run the base game at 50% off over the Halloween period, so it’s worth checking your store of choice before Lazarus lands.
