How to get Quick Sling in Hollow Knight: Silksong

If you’re deep into the treacherous world of Hollow Knight: Silksong, unlocking powerful new tools can mean the difference between scraping by and achieving mastery. One standout is the Quick Sling — a Blue Tool that allows you to wield devastating combinations of Red Tools all at once. But before you start slinging double Cogflies, you’ll need to get through a tough climb and a tricky traversal. Let’s break down exactly how to find the Quick Sling and when using it makes the most sense.

Quick Sling Hollow Knight Silksong

Where to find the Quick Sling in Silksong

To snag the Quick Sling, you’ll first need to progress into Act 2 of Silksong. This part of the game ramps up the challenge significantly, but don’t worry, we’ve got your path mapped out.

Step 1: Get the Double Jump

Your first goal is climbing to the top of Mount Fay to unlock the double jump ability. Warning: this platforming section is no joke. It’s a real test of your skills and patience, but it makes navigating every area afterwards feel much more manageable.

Step 2: Travel to Sinner’s Road

After securing the double jump, it’s time to head over to Sinner’s Road. This route is accessible from the upper-right area of Greymoor, but you’ll also need the wall jump, which you get in Shellwood.

Once you enter Sinner’s Road:

  • Climb up and move right when you see the first enemy.
  • Watch out for the maggot’s water. Falling in will poison you and restrict Binding for healing. You can remove the maggots by Binding once.
  • Climb the cages by down-slashing spiked wheels. This will get you to the upper-left of the room.
  • Exit the room, head upward again, and pass through the right path until you see a lever. Use it to open the gate.

Step 3: Break into Bilewater

Continue into a tower-like chamber and move right until you find a breakable wall. This reveals the path into Bilewater.

From here, it gets a little zig-zaggy:

  • Follow the path until you reach a fork: one goes right, one goes up.
  • The right path leads to a Needolin door with the Ruined Tool—grab it if you can.
  • Take the upper path and then go left at the top.
  • When you reach a vertical room, go up and enter the second passage to your right.
  • (Pro tip: the first right passage leads to Shakra with the map, so stop by if you’ve got enough Rosaries.)
  • In the second passage, head right, then up again. Here, you’ll find another breakable wall… and behind it? Your shiny new toy, the Quick Sling.

Quick Sling explained: What it does & when to use it

The Quick Sling is a unique Blue Tool that changes the way Red Tools work. Put simply, it allows you to deploy two Red Tools at once, effectively doubling your offensive potential.

Let’s say you’re summoning a Cogfly; instead of just one appearing, you’ll get two — instantly. But there’s a trade-off: this also consumes two units of your available tools. So, yeah, you’re burning through your supply twice as fast.

Where it shines

Quick Sling works wonders with certain tools like:

  • Conchcutter
  • Cogfly
  • Longpin

In these cases, doubling up significantly enhances your damage potential or control over enemy movement. It’s priceless when you’re prepping traps before a boss fight or trying to dominate an Arena battle.

Where it struggles

Not every tool benefits from being doubled. For example, using Quick Sling with the Sting Shard often causes them to interfere with each other, scattering away ineffectively before the boss even gets close.

It’s also not great for casual exploration or resource farming. Why? Because you’re doubling your tool usage when most situations only need one. During farming runs for Rosaries or Shell Shards, this can lead to wasting valuable tool charges unnecessarily.

Should you equip Quick Sling?

Honestly, it depends. If you’re heading into a boss battle or a difficult Arena section and your toolkit is built around synergy-heavy Red Tools, Quick Sling can be a game-changer. But for light exploring or grinding? Not worth the slot.

So, think of it like this: the Quick Sling is your glass cannon. Super powerful under the right conditions, but it’ll eat through your resources if you’re not careful. Equip wisely.

Finding the Quick Sling might be a journey, but once it’s in your toolkit, it opens up a whole new layer of tactical play in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Whether you’re stacking Cogflies or demolishing bosses with synchronized traps, this Blue Tool is a flashy asset, if you know when to let it rip.

Just remember: power comes with a price. Make sure you’re ready to pay it.
