Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be EA’s most ambitious entry yet. With four studios – DICE, Criterion, EA Motive, and Ripple Effect – teaming up, and thousands of players contributing feedback through Battlefield Labs, the next instalment is pulling out all the stops to deliver the best player experience possible.
Revamped Class Systems: Balancing Fixed & Flexible
One of the biggest changes is how classes will work. Instead of strict loadout restrictions, Battlefield 6 will strike a balance between unchangeable, class-defining elements and customisable perks.

Each class will have:
- A signature weapon that any player can use, but using it with its matching class gives unique perks, like faster sprint-to-shoot or better hip-fire.
- A signature gadget that’s fixed and can’t be swapped out.
- A signature trait, such as explosive resistance for Engineers or faster revive times for Support.
This ensures classes stay distinct while letting players adjust tactics on the fly.
New Training Paths System
Customisation doesn’t stop there. Each class will feature two Training Paths, which grant unique stat boosts and unlockable bonuses throughout a match. As you progress, you’ll even unlock a one-time-use ability: a tactical twist that resets each round, keeping every match fresh.
Alongside these, you’ll still have freedom to tweak weapon loadouts, throwables, and other gear outside the fixed gadgets and traits.

Weapon System Overhaul
Weapons in Battlefield 6 will be more flexible than ever. The series is dropping class-locked weapons in favor of signature perks. Expect deeper customisation that rewards your playstyle, whether that’s sniping from afar or charging into close-quarters combat.
A Return to Battlefield’s Roots
While details about maps and storylines remain under wraps until the official reveal later in Summer 2025, fans can look forward to a return to modern warfare with contemporary tools, futuristic gadgets, and, of course, the franchise’s trademark dynamic environmental destruction.
Stay Tuned for the Open Beta
If you can’t wait to jump in, keep an eye out: recent leaks suggest an Open Beta could be happening sooner than expected. With Battlefield Labs continuing to shape development, players’ voices are front and center as EA polishes the final product.

An Evolving Battlefield
Between signature class traits, the new Training Paths system, and a refined weapon setup, Battlefield 6 looks set to deliver tactical depth and fast-paced mayhem in equal measure. Whether you’re a lone wolf or a team player, you’ll have new ways to shape each fight.
Stay locked in for more updates: the battlefield is evolving, and you won’t want to miss a moment.
