NBA 2K23 has hopefully heralded in a new positive generation for the famed basketball franchise. Critics have already acknowledged the improved gameplay, with the review score average up year-on-year. No game is perfect, however, especially not at launch. Thankfully, the latest NBA 2K23 update patch notes look to further boost this year’s court credentials, addressing a known VC glitch.

Interestingly, the 2K Sports team has indicated that the latest update for NBA 2K23, patch version 1.005, comes with no gameplay changes or improvements.
The focus with this update for NBA 2K23 per the patch notes as released on Twitter indicate that the team has been working on improving stability across the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game.
The latest NBA 2K23 update is 1GB in size, however it doesn’t include any major gameplay changes.
The NBA 2K subreddit claims the patch addresses some VC issues within the game. Specifically, the ‘My Career’ mode had a bug in which unlocking and signing your first shoe contract would cause the game to freeze.
Thankfully, this means players across consoles will finally be able to sign a shoe contract, which stands to be a pretty important part of the NBA 2K23 My Career experience. The shoe contract is an important feature of the mode, as you need to complete it in order to progress.
Given the game is now been out for almost two weeks, we should probably expect a more sizeable update in the next 7-10 days, with some gameplay refinements and tweaks hopefully coming along the way.
