NBA 2K22 Best Builds For Every Position (Next Gen)

With NBA 2K22 now out, let’s take a look at some of the best builds for the My Player Builder, and guide through each position to make a demigod.

NBA 2K22‘s My Player Suite is perhaps the most challenging and refined in more than a decade. It allows you to craft some truly monstrous beasts, primed for NBA stardom, but it doesn’t come without its own set of challenges.

I’ve spent close to 10 hours now refining these builds and testing them out, and they’re what I believe to be some ideal builds to help you blast through The City and My Career with ease. Of course, these builds are by no means definitive, and you can veer off on your course to build a player more suited to your needs, but I found these builds to be perfectly aligned with my own play style at each psotion.

NOTE: These builds are for the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions of NBA 2K22

Best PG Build

2-Way Threat with Shades of Trae Young

Body Settings

• Height: 6’4″
• Weight: 175 lbs
• Wingspan: 6’9″

Attributes

This build is going to net you badges mostly across Shooting and Playmaking, with some fairly solid base badges in Finishing and Defense. You could potentially adjust the Offensive Rating attribute to boost Acceleration and Perimeter Defense, while Free Throw could also do with a boost here if you can find a way to reassign attribute points without impact the build potential too much.

Select “Limitless Range” and “Shot-Up Precision”

You’ll end up with a 2-Way Threat Point Guard with shades of Trae Young.

Best SG Build

Offensive Threat with Shades of Stephen Curry

Body Settings

• Height: 6’3″
• Weight: 185 lbs
• Wingspan: 6’3″

Attributes

Similar to the PG build we have good spread across Shooting and Playmaking, with a slight boost in the Finishing range and less weight in Defense/Rebounding. I feel there’s some capacity to tinker with this to end up with improved dunking, but the shooting range here is the important one for a Curry build.

You’ll end up with a 2-Way Threat Point Guard with shades of Step Curry.

Best SF Build

Pass-First Wing with Shades of LeBron James

Body Settings

• Height: 6’9″
• Weight: 250 lbs
• Wingspan: 6’11”

Attributes

As one might expect for a LeBron James build, we’ve got a fairly rounded overall build across the badges available.

Select “Team Ratings Boost” and “Limitless Range”

You’ll end up with a Pass First Wing with shades of LeBron James.

Best PF Build

Glass-Cleaning Finisher with Shades of Zion Williamson

Body Settings

• Height: 6’9″
• Weight: 210 lbs
• Wingspan: 7’7″

Attributes

So this may understandably be a rather controversial build, but I had a lot of fun playing with this build. There’s a lot of potential here to be a real beast, with strong attribute ceilings and badges across Finishing, Shooting, and Defense/Rebounding.

You’ll end up with a Glass-Cleaning Finisher with shades of Zion Williamson.

Best C Build

Mid-Range Maestro with Shades of Nikola Jokic

Body Settings

• Height: 6’11”
• Weight: 284 lbs
• Wingspan: 7’0″

Attributes

This is going to be another controversial build but you end up with a really diverse, strong, good shooting big man. There could be some improvements made here in the interior defense department but you’re going to be having a big impact across the floor so it may not be a huge impact to leave it as is.

You’ll end up with a Mid-Range Maestro with shades of Nikola Jokic.
