Ahead of its September 10 release date on Xbox Series X, 2K Sports has finally lifted the lid in a new trailer on what gamers can expect to see in NBA 2K22‘s The City mode, while also showcasing the game’s MyCareer mode storyline.
A host of new features, rewards and activities will be part of the new The City mode in NBA 2K22, and there’s some added integration with MyCareer, where your City crib will be part of the narrative-driven MyCAREER experience.
New City Quests lead the way as part of NBA 2K22‘s expanded City mode, with solo ventures for players to experiment with their careers off the court. Fancy your fashion credentials? Then maybe a fashion mogul is in your future. You can also climb the ranks as rap icon.
2K Sports is also promising an “increase population” in The City, with added NPCs proposed to “fully bring the world around you together”.
One of the key takeaways from the trailer was the ability to update your crib and have it integrated into the MyCAREER storyline, where coaches and friends will give you new quests throughout the experience.
The MyCAREER tale will take place entirely within the City limits, with a quest-based MyCAREER that promises to deliver “engaging, unique storytelling”.
The new Quest system in NBA 2K22 is perhaps the most intriguing of all new features added to the game. You’ll get to choose who to talk to and when, which will trigger “tons of unique interactions with interesting personalities, filmed in a cinematic style”.
Not only will things happen to you that are outside of your control, just like in real life, but the choices you make, in everything from play style to interview responses, unlock mini-story arcs and rewards that tailor the experience to what’s going on in your MyPLAYER’s career.
There’s a stack more unique details and features outlined in the latest Courtside Report, so check it out.
