It’s just over a month until Far Cry 6 lands on Xbox Series X, Series S and PC, and with a bunch of hands-on previews and gameplay footage landing over the past few days, interest has now shifted to the game’s performance, particularly on PC. Thankfully, Ubisoft has now lifted the lid on the Far Cry 6 PC specs.
Unsurprisingly and aligned with past Ubisoft games, the entry level for Far Cry 6 on PC is quite low: you’re not going to need a rocket ship to get this thing running on your hardware.
There’s the promise of some “in-depth customisation options”, which means gamers will be able to scale their resolution to ultrawide gaming monitors, whilst also adjusting PC controller inputs.
Additionally, players can also tinker with ray tracing and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution settings, which sets quite a high bar for Far Cry 6‘s maximum performance capabilities on PC. Given the sheer range of performance on offer here, Ubisoft strongly recommends the use of an SSD to boost performance. The storage capacity required is at least 60GB, plus around 36GB for HD texture packs should you wish to play the game at 1440p resolution and above.
