New wired stereo headset announced for Xbox Series x

Xbox Series X and Series S owners can look forward to a new and cheaper wired headset for their console before the year is out.

The team over at Xbox HQ and unveiled a brand new first-party headset, set to launch on September for approx. $60 USD.

The headset is revealed to be a cheaper and more appealing option for gamers who don’t want to be spending a few hundred dollars on first and third party wireless stereo headsets. The downside to the cheaper headset, of course, is that it’s wired.

Evidently, Microsoft says this is an “entry level headset”, which supports high-fidelity Windows Sonic spatial sound and crystal-clear chat. The flexible, lightweight design makes for a comfortable experience during extended play.

It’ll support spatial sound technologies including Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone:X.

You’ll be able to connect directly to the Xbox Wireless Controller through the 3.5mm audio jack, no batteries required.

It’s compatible with the Xox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PCs with 3.5mm jack, and will launch on September 21. You can pre-order it now via the official Microsoft Store.
