One of the most underrated gems of last generation is finally getting a much-needed optimisation upgrade on Xbox Series X.
Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice launched on PS4 in mid-2017 to much acclaim, before eventually coming to Xbox One and other consoles over the subsequent years. When Ninja Theory became a subsidiary of Xbox Game Studios in 2018, Hellblade‘s future seemed destined for Xbox exclusivity.

With a sequel in the works planned for Xbox Series X and PC, attention turned to a proposed optimised version of Senua’s Sacrifice for Xbox Series X. We now have confirmed details of exactly what we can expect from the souped-up version of Hellblade.
Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S owners can look forward to an optimised version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Both consoles will get refined graphics modes, appropriately called “Performance”, “Resolution” and “Enriched”.

The “Performance” mode of Hellblade will have dynamic resolution up to 1080p and up to 120FPS. This mode won’t have ray-tracing.
