Black Ops Cold War FOV slider confirmed for Xbox, PlayStation releases

Ask any gamer with even mild motion sickness what their thoughts are of Call of Duty on console, and they’re likely to gag in disgust. That may just change with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, however, based on Treyarch’s most recent Tweet.

While Call of Duty games have long been console-first titles, with the PC community often left in the lurch with regards to updates and features, it’s the console versions that get left out of the field-of-view roadmap.

Field of View (FOV) settings allow players to adjust the overall space around your central field of view, meaning the closer your FOV, the tight and more “tunnelled” the view, whereas the wider the FOV, the more you can take in on the screen.

On console this has often been locked in a single spot, but this will change with the forthcoming Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X and PS5 release of Black Ops Cold War.

Treyarch has confirmed that you’ll now be able to tweak your FOV settings regardless of the platform you’re playing on, which should please some gamers that vomit at the thought of the run-and-gun gameplay of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13.
