It’s been rumoured for months, hyped up for just as long, but we now finally have confirmation: Borderlands 3 is really, and we have the gameplay footage to prove it.
Overnight, Gearbox Software and 2K Games unveiled “The Year Of Borderlands”, lifting the lid off Borderlands 3 in the process and making the dreams of every Borderlands fan come true the world over.

During its PAX East panel, it also debuted gameplay footage from Borderlands 3, and it looks just as awesome as we could have possibly hoped for.
We don’t have much to go on outside of the trailer, but Gearbox says more information is on the way on April 3.

It stands to be a pretty huge year for the Borderlands franchise. Not only is Borderlands 3 on the way, but we can also expect plenty of refresh content of the older, classic games.
First up, a remastered edition of the original Borderlands, called Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, will land on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on April 3.

Following that will be free Ultra HD Texture Packs for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on consoles, as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 on PC.
Finally, Borderlands 2 VR on PlayStation VR will get all Borderlands 2 DLC for free this summer.

So as you can see, that’s a pretty huge next few months for the Borderlands franchise and the family at Gearbox.
We’ll need to wait until April 3 for more information on Borderlands 3, but in the meantime, check out the gameplay trailer above.
