Apex Legends has quickly established itself as one of the battle royale genre’s most popular games, and with that popularity has come the inevitable influx of cheaters, looking to propel themselves up the ranks, one cheat at a time.
Now of course, those cheats don’t come in the same of the traditional o’ “Press X Y X A”, but rather in the form of exploits and other tools used to boost stats, auto-aim, boost fire rate, among other things.
Thankfully, the game’s developer, Respawn, has been quickly to stamp out these wannabes, having already banned many thousands of players for unfairly boosting their performance.
“Cheaters suck,” Respawn said on Reddit. “As of today over 16,000 cheaters have been identified and banned from the game. Cheaters suck. If you run into one, please try and capture the evidence and let us know,” with an easy report card available for you to dob in those filthy cheaters.
“Even if you don’t get proof, get their ID and flag it and we can investigate the account.”
Respawn plans to roll out a number of key changes and features to improve game stability, and make it that bit tougher for cheaters to establish themselves in game lobbies.
The next update is due in the coming days, with the most recent update on Valentine’s Day acting as somewhat of a precursor ahead of the major one.
