Red Dead Redemption 2 cheats for PS4 and Xbox One

It wouldn’t be a Rockstar game without cheats, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is certainly no exception to the rule. As with all open-world games these days, cheats play a formidable if frowned-upon role when it comes to exploring the vast, open worlds of today’s video games.

The most tempting element of cheats in Rockstar games is that they punish as much as they reward: with the unbridled, unhinged experience they offer, they also disable Achievements and Trophies, stopping you from ever reaching 100% (unless you have a cheats-only save).

So, if you do opt to go all-in and drop some cheat bombs onto the world of Red Dead Redemption 2, then rest assured you’ll have access to infinite ammo, health, and stamina, as well as — of course — boost Dead Eye shenanigans.

How To Unlock Cheats

To unlock and open up cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2, all you need to do is activate cheats from the game’s main menu.

Head over to “Settings”, press “Y” or “Triangle”, and then select the desired cheat code to enter the corresponding phrase.

Now, there is more to it than simply activating the cheat code menu: you actually unlock each cheat code, by completing certain tasks, objectives and the like throughout the game.

Achievements & Trophies

Now of course, being a Rockstar game, activating and using cheats comes with somewhat of a judgemental approach to reward and acknowledgement: if you cheat, there’s no way in hell the game is going to reward you.

That means that if you use a cheat in Red Dead Redemption 2, you will lock Achievements and Trophies.

Requirement: Greed is now a virtue

Cheat: Give Basic Weapons

Requirement: Type in “A Simple life, a beautiful death”

Cheat: Unlock All Outfits

Requirement: Type in “Vanity. All is vanity”

Cheat: Infinite Ammo

Requirement: Once you have the newspaper from Valentine in Chapter 1, enter the phrase “Abundance is the dullest desire”.

Cheat: Fill Stamina, Health and Dead Eye

Requirement: Finish up Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern in Chapter 3, and then purchase Blackwater Ledger No.66, or, alternatively, New Hanover Gazette No. 31. Then enter the phrase “You Long for sight and see nothing”
