Splatoon 2 has finally hit Nintendo Switch, bringing the acclaimed multiplayer franchise to Nintendo’s new gaming juggernaut. With ranked play and plenty of esports potential on the horizon, Splatoon 2 is well placed to become one of gaming’s premier multiplayer franchises.
The release of Splatoon 2 has seen three new amiibo enter the scene in the forms of a new Inkling girl and Inkling Boy, and a new Inkling Squid.
Each brings with it a host of new gear and rewards.
How To Unlock Amiibo Gear
In the Plaza, approach an empty amiibo box and place your Splatoon 2 amiibo on the controller. Match the amiibo on the controller with the corresponding one that appears on the screen.
Once you do this you’ll unlock new gear. You can use Splatoon amiibo to unlock the same gear if you invested in the first game’s amiibo and don’t feel so inclined to invest a second time.
