Call of Duty WW2 Nazi Zombies trailer lifts lid on creepy plot

wActivision and Sledgehammer Games weren’t happy about the leak earlier this week, but they can now finally rest easy knowing that official word on Nazi Zombies in Call of Duty: WWII is out in the wild.

The new trailer was released out of San Diego Comic Con, lifting the lid on the Nazi Zombies and outlining the “vision of our fuhrer’s future”, according to the clip.

“The death of the old world and the birth of the new. Can you hear it? Drums. The drums of war. The march of progress. I have built more than just a new kind of soldier. I have created the devil himself,” a voice says in the trailer.

Call of Duty: WWII‘s Nazi Zombies mode promises to offer a “unique take” on what has long been a Call of Duty staple, dating back to Treyarch’s last WW2 effort in World at War.

The definitive World War II next generation experience also introduces Nazi Zombies, an all-new cooperative mode featuring a unique standalone storyline set during World War II that’s full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping action,” Activision said in a statement.

In Nazi Zombies, players will embark on a “chilling and mysterious journey through a snowy Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany, as they attempt to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers in World War II.”

Sounds very Nazi Zombie-ish, eh?

“This village holds a shadowy secret key to an unimaginable and monstrous power. Nothing is as it seems in this zombies horror, as a dark and sinister plot unfolds to unleash an invincible Nazi army of the dead.”

You’ll take on the role of Jefferson Potts, the leader of the group, or one of Drostan Hynd, Olivia Durant, and Marie Fischer, as you fight to survive and struggle to complete your objective within the set time.

A beta for Call of Duty: WWII goes live on August 25 across PS4 and Xbox One. Hopefully we get a taste of Nazi Zombies when the beta drops.
