The Overwatch World Cup is returning in 2017. The country rankings have been determined — Australia is ranked 13th in the world — the schedules have been set and the groups announced. We now finally have details about the Group C and Group D Qualifiers, which will take place in Sydney, Australia.
The Star Event Centre in Sydney will play host to the qualifiers over the weekend of July 21-23, with two places at the Overwatch World Cup up for grabs, with the event to take place this November at BlizzCon.
Australia finds itself in Group C battling it out against Sweden (4th), Italy (20th), Portugal (29th). Group D features Finland (5th), Japan (12th), Spain (21st) and Vietnam (28th).
Ticket pre-sale ballot is now online, with more going on sale through Ticketek on June 20.
Tickets are priced at $60 AUD, which offers access to the full three-day tournment. The event will be livestreamed.
The group stage will see the top two teams from each group moving onto a single-elimination playoff, with the winners from each group moving onto the eight-team field at BlizzCon in November.
