E3 kicks off in LA next week, and Fenix Bazaar will be there to cover the latest in gaming and tech. Sony plans to have a big presence at E3, with PlayStation 4 and PSVR all primed for a strong showing of blockbuster games. Sony is always one to have a large showing on the showroom floor, but which ones are we excited for the most? Here’s our list of PlayStation exclusives to keep an eye out for at E3 2017.

Destiny 2

Will We See It? Extremely Likely

Activision and Bungie held a gameplay reveal for Destiny 2 last month, but expect to see more of it during PlayStation’s pre-show press conference. Destiny has a long-standing exclusivity agreement with PlayStation dating back to the release of the first game, and E3 has consistently been used as a showcase of the game and its features. While we saw a bit of the game in action last month, we can certainly count on more during PlayStation’s briefing, as well as hands-on previews out of the show.

Detroit: Become Human

Will We See It? Unsure

The gameplay demo shown at E3 2016 certainly raised plenty of eyebrows, in typical Quantic Dream fashion. The next game from industry visionary David Cage has the makings of another PlayStation classic, but there’s doubt as to whether we’ll see it at E3 2017. Cage and Co. have a history of creating games with a slow, organic grind, and so often they’re not best for live stage or hands on presentations. Still, it should come as no surprise if it were showcased during E3 2017 especially after last year’s demo, and it would be great to get a release window as well.

Knack 2

Will We See It? Likely

The sequel to the underrated 2013 launch game is set for release in late 2017, but we’ve seen little in the way of gameplay. There are some previews floating about, and they’re mostly positive. Sony seems intent on establishing Knack as a long-term PlayStation franchise, and E3 2017 stands as an important pillar towards achieving that goal.

Days Gone

playstation e3

Will We See It? Likely

Days Gone stands as perhaps the most intriguing PlayStation exclusive, despite the familiarity of its zombie apocalypse setting. It’s being developed by SIE Bend Studio, with Days Gone being the first new IP created by the studio since it created Syphon Filter, and it’ll be the first game from them since 2010’s Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow on PSP. The gameplay reveal at E3 2016 was perhaps one of the best moments out of the event last year, so while expectations are high, there’s no doubting Sony can meet them at E3 2017.

Gran Turismo Sport

Will We See It? Extremely Likely

Sony appears set to showcase GTS using PSVR, but it would be great to get a release date and some good ol’ gameplay out of E3 2017. The game has gone through expected delays, pushed back from a 2016 release to late 2017, and while GT fans have come to expect that from the series, it would still be good to see more of it ahead of the end of year rush. Will it be ready by the end of the year or will it come out in 2018? Hopefully we find out at E3 2017.

The Last Of Us Part 2

Will We See It? Extremely Unlikely

Perhaps the most anticipated PlayStation exclusive is a long way away, just as developer, Naughty Dog, has stated. It would be amazing to see some gameplay footage, but with an already strong lineup of exclusives, Sony may hold off and give the game more of a platform later in the year or even at E3 2018. We shouldn’t expect TLOU2 any time soon, and so an E3 2017 seems unlikely, even if we’re hopeful.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite

playstation e3

Will We See It? Likely

We first heard of and saw this game at PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016, but since then we’ve heard nothing. It’s set for release in September, but there’s been a suspicious lack of updates and gameplay on display, making it hard to get excited about outside its namesake. It clearly has PlayStation exclusivity in some capacity considering how it was revealed, and while it’s coming to other platforms come September, Sony may use its E3 briefing to show the game off in all its glory.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

playstation e3

Will We See It? Extremely Likely

Naughty Dog’s latest — and perhaps last — Uncharted entry ditches the franchise’s iconic protagonist for some new heroes in the way of familiar faces from the original trilogy. While the hype factor isn’t quite to the level of past Uncharted entries, The Lost Legacy still stands as an important piece in Sony’s library of PlayStation exclusives, even if it is coming as an expansion.

Death Stranding

playstation e3

Will We See It? Extremely Unlikely

Just as with the above, it appears unlikely that we’ll see gameplay from Hideo Kojima‘s latest, with another CGI trailer more likely. It would be great to see some development insight, which is a possibility. No one really knows or understands what Death Stranding is about, so hopefully we learn more out of E3.

Spiderman

playstation e3

Will We See It? Likely

The Spiderman trailer out of last year’s E3 was one of the best moments from the event. Insomniac Games is working on the title, looking to bring the webslinging hero to PlayStation in an exclusive open-world experience. It stands as one of the most anticipated PS4 exclusives for the next 12 months, so fingers crossed for a strong showing.
