The latest patch for Mass Effect: Andromeda brings with it a host of changes, additions and improvements, but perhaps the most interesting thing to come to the game is the X5 Ghost rifle.
This assault rifle was initially only seen in cutscenes, prompting fans of the game to reach out to BioWare about its actual location.
Following a campaign by gamers to have the rifle added to the game, BioWare included it in the latest update.
“It was an early idea that become a prop, but doesn’t exist as a functional gun in the game,” lead designer, Ian Frazier, replied on Twitter at the time. “That said, several folks seem interested in it, so we’re investigating the possibility of turning the prop into a usable gun for a future patch.”
So how do you get your hands on the X5 Ghost Rifles? Here’s how.
Visit a R&D Terminal
In “Milky Way Technology”, select “Weapons” and then navigate to “X5 Ghost Assault Rifle”
Research the gun. Here’s what each version costs:
- X5 Ghost Assault Rifle I – 125 Research Data
- X5 Ghost Assault Rifle II – 140 Research Data
- X5 Ghost Assault Rifle III – 155 Research Data
- X5 Ghost Assault Rifle IV – 170 Research Data
- X5 Ghost Assault Rifle V – 185 Research Data
Once you have researched the blueprint for the rifle, head back to the main R&D Terminal menu, and navigate to “Development”
Navigate to “Weapons” and “Assault Rifles”, and then find the rifle.
To craft the base mode, you’ll need the following resources:
- 20x Omni-Gel Canister
- 80x Iron (Fe)
- 40x Cadmium (Cd)
- 10x Element Zero (Ez)
And that’s it. You should now find the X5 Ghost Assault Rifle in your weapon inventory.
