Turns out the rumour that was floating about earlier this week is true: Black Ops 3 is set for another bout of zombie madness, and this time it will bring with it a host of classic maps from World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2.
The rumours began when a reportedly leaked image on Reddit pointed to Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Zombies Chronicles, a game that had been listed and spotted at multiple Mexican and Polish retailers.
The listings were of course removed, but not before the folks at Charlie Intel translated the copy.
“Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles is the latest set that includes the original Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gameplay complete with Zombie Chronicles – 8 original maps renewed for the next generation of Call of Duty,” the listing said.
It’s now all been confirmed by Treyarch’s co-studio head, Jason Blundell, via YouTuber JCbackfire.
“It’s a loving, fan-service piece, by remaking and remastering eight of the original maps,” said Blundell.
Here are the maps coming to Zombie Chronicles:
World At War
- Nacht der Untoten
- Verruckt
- Shi No Numa
Black Ops
- Kino Der Toten
- Ascension
- Shangri-la
- Moo
Black Ops 2
- Origins
Zombies Chronicles will land on PlayStation 4 first on May 16, with Xbox One and PC expected to hit in the weeks later.
