Grand Theft Auto fans may be clamouring for single-player DLC, but with thriving GTA Online and mod communities, not to mention Red Dead Redemption 2 on the horizon, it appears less likely by the day that Rockstar will expand GTA V‘s offerings.
Thankfully, many a crafty modder is always looking for ways to improve the experience.
Take Crotainment Games, for example, who is hellbent on recreating and celebrating the PS2-era GTA games within GTA V.
To start things off, they’ve brought the map from Vice City (this author’s favourite GTA) to the world of Los Santos, with a quick plane ride from the airport seeing us land on the sunny shores of downtown Vice City.
“This mod aims to port [PS2] era maps of Liberty City and Vice City, and add them to the existing map of Los Santos and Blaine County in GTA V,” they say on GTAForums.
The mod is still very much in development alpha stage, with some small tweaks currently taking place to return the city to the thriving metropolis it was upon the game’s actual release back in 2002.

GTA Vice City, what a game. I think if I played it again there would be so many jokes and references I'd pick up on now that I didn't at the time.
