The year has already gotten off the a huge start with the likes of Nioh and Halo Wars 2 dominating the early months of the gaming calender.
March will really kickstart the year, however, with a number of huge releases.
The Nintendo Switch will prove to be the biggest hardware release of the year until Xbox Scorpio is unleashed around November.
Let’s take a look at what else comes out throughout March 2017.
March 1
Horizon: Zero Dawn
PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4’s biggest exclusive of the year so far has already garnered critical acclaim ahead of its March 1 release. Said to be the most beautiful game of the generation, Horizon: Zero Dawn is the reason to own a PS4 Pro.
March 3
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo will unleash its newest home console, Switch, on March 3, along with a solid if shallow launch lineup of games.
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- 1-2-Switch
- Fast RMX
- Just Dance 2017
- I Am Setsuna
- Little Inferno
- Shovel Knight
- Skylanders: Imaginators
- Snipperclips
- Super Bomberman R
March 7
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands
PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
A highly publicised closed beta and a second open beta to end off January will lead into the Ghost Recon franchise’s open-world reboot in Wildlands. Can this sandbox co-op experience live up to the standards of its predecessors?
March 10
Nier: Automata
PlayStation 4, PC
Platinum Games’ long-awaited action RPG finally arrives on PS4 in the early weeks of March. Directed by Yoko Taro, the brains behind the original Nier, Automata stands to be similarly addictive and popular among genre diehards.
March 11
Mario Sports Superstars
Nintendo 3DS
This game comes after the release of the Switch and alongside a number of huge AAA releases. It probably shouldn’t exist but it does: at least you’ll have something to play on your 3DS!
March 14
Styx: Shards Of Darkness
PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
This game has flown under the radar, but publisher Focus Home Interactive could be onto a winder with developer Cyanide’s stealth-action game. It’s the third entry in the Of Orcs and Men series.
March 15
LEGO Worlds
PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch
The LEGO franchise might be late to the Minecraft party, but it still seems like a natural feet. Build and construct in a 3D procedurally generated world, but of course with a LEGO theme.
March 23
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Arguably the biggest release of the year, Mass Effect: Andromeda looks set to blow series fans away with a deep, more open and streamlined action-RPG experience from BioWare.
Also Out In March …
Troll and I (March 24)
Has-Been Heroes (March 28)
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix (March 31)
Deformers (March 31)
Vikings: Wolves Of Midgard (March 31)

Horizon Zero Dawn......then the Switch. Ooooh yeah.
Also looking forward to a bit of Lego Worlds on the Switch. Seems to me that a Minecraft like Lego game is a perfect fit, if done right.
