Crash Bandicoot is coming back, and gamers of the ’90s are losing their minds.
It’s been teased for years, but licensing issues between license holder Activision and the platform once considered home to the chaotic critter — PlayStation — left him sitting in video game limbo.
Now, many years after his last outing, Crash Bandicoot is returning to PlayStation in all his outrageous, hilarious, insane glory.
The Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy will bring with it the first three games in the Crash library — Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped — all of which are getting some significant visual touch-ups.
We’ve had many a reboot and remaster over the past few years, but this one is definitely right at the top of the pile: it’ll be very interesting to see how the gameplay holds up after almost 20 years.
One thing will definitely remain when the remastered classics hit PlayStation 4 in 2017, however: the utter insanity that is Crash Bandicoot. That’s why we remember and love him and those original games, right? Just the sheer craziness of it all.
One video perhaps encapsulates that craziness better than most. It’s simple, trivial and silly, but nothing screams “Crash Bandicoot” quite like it.

If this video doesn’t make you want to find every single box for poor ol’ Crash, then maybe you don’t deserve to go on this adventure with him!
