EA’s revered Battlefield franchise is returning to the trenches.
As gamers reel from an abundance of futuristic shooters, Battlefield 1 seems like a breath of fresh air despite its not-so-original setting.
Set during World War I, Battlefield 1 will feature horses, tanks, motorcycles and biplanes, as well as the “boots-on-the-ground” gameplay that Call Of Duty fans have been calling out for a return to for years. It seems DICE and EA are more inclined to listen than Activision.
As expected, Battlefield 1 will feature 64-player multiplayer battles across a number of iconic locations, including the rough terrain of the Alps and the blistering heat of the Arabian desert.
It will launch on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on October 21, 2016, while those who pre-order the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition will get early access on October 18 alongside EA Access members and those who pre-order on Origin.
