Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s development strategy could well be the most unique in the franchise’s history. It’s long been known that Call of Duty: WWII developer, Sledgehammer Games, was leading the charge, but the sheer scope of the title means multiple developers are all helping with the game in some way.
There’s a marketing email doing the rounds — shared via the folks over at Charlie Intel — that lists Beenox, High Moon Studios, Raven Software, and Treyarch as all having a hand in the development of Call of Duty: Vanguard.

“In a new marketing email Activision is sending out about Vanguard it confirms Treyarch, Beenox, Raven, and High Moon Studios are working on the game alongside Sledgehammer Games,” they said.
There’s no further details on what exactly each team is working on, but it could simply be a matter of Sledgehammer managing strategy and design identity, where Raven and Treyarch are working on bringing Warzone into Vanguard‘s game world.
Which raises interesting questions as to Warzone‘s place in the release of Vanguard considering the game is said to be set towards the end of and shortly after the end of World War II.
Multiple studios working on a Call of Duty game is not unusual: Sledgehammer first joined the fold in 2011 to help Infinity Ward with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and all three of Beenox, High Moon Studios and Raven have helped out in some way or another.

Treyarch of course is known for the Black Ops series, something it’s worked on exclusively since 2010 across five entries, the most recent being last year’s Black Ops – Cold War.
Beenox has helped out on every Call of Duty game dating back to 2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III, with the exception being Call of Duty: WWII, which Sledgehammer seemingly went out at alone on.
High Moon Studios has helped out on 2014’s Advanced Warfare, 2016’s Modern Warfare Remastered, 2019’s Modern Warfare, and Cold War.
Raven is an industry stalwart, having worked on every single Call of Duty game dating back to 2010’s Black Ops. That’s 14 Call of Duty games, more than any other studio has worked on in the franchise’s history.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to be officially revealed during a Warzone event tomorrow. Here are the reveal times for your country.
