Bungie lifted the lid off Destiny 2 overnight at an exclusive event in Los Angeles.
Activision and developer Bungie hosted an extravagant showcase of the game in its current form, and the event certainly delivered.
Destiny 2 opens with “loss”, with the Tower brought down and human’s last city defeated in a last stand.
You’ll start with no weapons and no powers.
“Destiny 2 is going to be a new start for everyone,” Game director, Luke Smith, says.
There are three core pillars to the Destiny 2 experience, according to Smith. The sandbox has been rebuilt, and the Crucible has been tweaked and retooled from the ground up.
Smith also said that the game’s cooperative feel has also evolved from the first game, before revealing that a staggering 50% of all Destiny players never played a raid.
He suggested that raids will be available to all players, with a system in place to help players find like-minded and similarly-skilled players.
