If you had any doubt about whether Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch was worth investing in, the latest info dump from Nintendo should be enough to persuade you.
Simply put, MK8 Deluxe stands to be the second marquee game to hit the console in only its third month on the market, after the critically acclaimed Breath Of The Wild launched alongside it on March 3.
This rebooted version of Mart Kart 8 adds a stack of new features, making it seem like perhaps the most value-packed re-release of a game yet.
On the characters front, Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy from Splatoon join the likes of King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr. as new additions to the roster.
That brings the total number of racers up to 42, as well as two additional karts coming with the Splatoon characters.
Battle Mode has been given a reworking, with Nintendo promising a number of different ways to play and beat down on your opponents.
There will be eight courses, along with five different game modes: classic balloon battle, Bom-omb Blast from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, the coin mode from Mario Kart Wii, Shine Thief, and Renegade Roundup.
On the gameplay front, players can also expect a few subtle changes.
You’ll be able to hold two items at once, while Boo items are also being added back into the fold.
A classic from Super Mario Kart in the feather is also making a return.
On top of what was already a great game, we’re getting some classic modes and items from older Mario Kart games, a refined Battle mode, new characters, and what will surely be even more content post-launch.

I'm already interested in the Switch, but I'll really be interested when there's a 3rd party headliner.
