Battlefield 6 Labs build leaks new dadgets, weapons, and grounded cosmetics

The Battlefield 6 Open Beta may be a wrap, but DICE isn’t hitting the brakes just yet. A fresh internal build of Battlefield 6 has surfaced in Battlefield Labs, and it’s packed with plenty of juicy updates. From never-before-seen weapons and gadgets to customisation options that scream tactical realism, this leak gives us the closest preview yet of what the final game might feel like.

Fresh off the Battlefield Labs floor

Over the weekend, a new Battlefield 6 game build was uploaded to Battlefield Labs, DICE’s internal testing environment. This isn’t just a tweak or a balance patch. We’re talking about a full-on update loaded with additions that didn’t make the cut in the Open Beta.

One eagle-eyed tester uploaded around 19 minutes of captured gameplay footage from the new build to Bilibili (via MP1ST), a Chinese video-sharing platform. It later made rounds across the Battlefield community, including the 1BF leaker group. While the footage isn’t officially endorsed — obviously — it offers a detailed walk-through of many untested gadgets, plus some new cosmetic options that, surprisingly, don’t seem outlandish at all.

Gadget galore: Tactical toys unlocked

Gadget fans, you’re in for a treat. The leaked video showcases a noticeable stockpile of new tools and gear, some of which didn’t appear during the Battlefield 6 Open Beta. These range from new mid-range recon devices to explosive ordinance options that tactical players will drool over.

While the specifics of each gadget remain unconfirmed (because let’s face it, leaks aren’t patch notes), the overall tone of this build suggests that DICE is really leaning into variety and verticality without sacrificing grounded gameplay.

Keep in mind: this content is still tucked inside Battlefield Labs. So while the gear is real (for now) it might not all make it to launch. Still, judging by the volume of gadgets shown, it’s safe to say Battlefield 6 has plenty in store for frontline engineers and support players alike.

Customisation that keeps it real … for now

Customisation has always been a touchy subject in modern shooters. One look at Battlefield 2042 and you’ll know why. But fans worried about clown-suit operators can breathe a little easier.

The new customisation menu, as shown in the leaked video, displays a range of helmet options and uniform tweaks. All of it maintains the gritty, authentic aesthetic Battlefield fans love. No purple mohawks or sci-fi armor here, at least not yet. It’s clear DICE is balancing creative freedom with visual realism, something the franchise desperately needed to get back on track.

More beta testing on the horizon?

The biggest question on players’ minds now is: will we get to test this build ourselves? While DICE has yet to confirm another open testing phase, there’s hope that a second beta could launch closer to release. Given the massive feedback intake from the Open Beta — which attracted an estimated 20 million players across its two weekends — it’s highly possible they’ll want to stress test again with updated content.

And let’s pray the next test includes some of those larger maps we know are out there, thanks to recent datamines. The beta maps were tight and punchy, but Battlefield has always shined on wide, open battlefields with multi-pronged objectives and vehicular chaos.

Reminder: Free Battle Pass and October launch

For Battlefield 2042 players still grinding, there’s a bit of crossover good news. DICE rolled out a free Battle Pass for 2042, and it includes rewards for use in Battlefield 6. That’s a welcome incentive for veteran players to stick around and earn unlockables before the new title drops.

Battlefield 6 is set to release on October 10 on Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
